Whoa Doggie
Established in 2022, Whoa Doggie was founded on the belief that pet care should go beyond meeting basic needs—it should be a truly enriching experience for both pets and their people.
We offer a variety of in-home and on-location services designed to meet the unique needs of each dog, including dog walking, drop-ins, pet sitting, training, playgroups, boarding & daycare. Every service is rooted in safety, fun, and connection.
We are proud members of the Alberta Force Free Alliance, and our team is Fear Free certified in Dog Daycare & Boarding—because your dog’s wellbeing is always our top priority.

Hi, I’m Chantelle, founder and owner of Whoa Doggie, a pet care service shaped by my personal journey with dogs and my belief in enrichment-based care.
With experience as a pet parent, client, and professional across rescue, daycare, and boarding environments, I have a deep understanding of dog care from both sides of the leash. This perspective inspired me to create Whoa Doggie as a place where enrichment is intentional, thoughtful, and central to everything we do.
I have completed a dog behaviour and training apprenticeship and continue my education through ongoing studies in Pooch Peacebuilding and Systems-based approaches to canine behaviour. By combining this framework with my passion for play and enrichment, I design experiences that support dogs’ emotional, mental, and physical well-being.
Whether in group settings at The Enrichment Centre or through one-on-one services, I’m proud to lead the Whoa Doggie team in Providing an Enriching Experience for every dog in our care.

I have been an animal lover as far back as I can remember, this drove me at a young age to work with veterinary clinics, rescues, and pet sitting. Sixteen years ago, I took a step back to try my hand in the corporate world. Although I was very successful, I never lost sight for my true calling – dogs! I started volunteering and fostering again which led me to my goal of being a dog trainer, behaviour consultant, and ultimately to Whoa Doggie!
I hold my Dogma Dog Trainer Certificate, Dogma Certified Behaviour Consultant, and CPDT-KA designations. My training and passion have led me to work and live with dogs with reactivity and fear as well as puppies, giving me real life, hands-on experience with our four-legged companions.

Growing up, I always had dogs as a part of my family which is what led to my dream of working with them. I have years of experience with several different breeds, ranging in ages, which include golden retrievers, pomeranians, labrador retrievers, Australian cattle dogs (heelers), Australian Shepards, and German shepherds. These experiences have strengthened my knowledge of different temperaments and needs. Although these are the breeds that I am most familiar with, I have a love and passion for all dog breeds. Aside from caring for my own dogs, I have also looked after my friends and family member’s dogs. I truly strive to ensure the health and happiness of all pets under my care.

Back in Ukraine, I have two beloved cats who now live with my parents, and I truly miss having a furry friend here in Canada. That’s why I was so happy to join the Whoa Doggie team and support their mission that pet care should go beyond basic needs — it should be an enriching, loving experience.
I genuinely enjoy spending time with pets, playing with them, and giving them the affection they deserve. Caring for animals isn’t just work for me — it’s something I truly love. And I’m grateful for every pet I get to meet.

After moving from Manitoba to Calgary, Roxy now lives with my grandparents and is the most spoiled dog you could ever imagine, from her home cooked meals to her abundance of toys & playtime. An experience like that has had the biggest impact on my heart & mind, and I thrive to show all animals the same love, patience and compassion that my sweet Roxy was once missing.
